Game Ideas - "Unexpectedly Opposite"

Part of the self study module this week is to come up with and explain two game ideas which are suitable for development in the unit, under the theme "Unexpectedly Opposite".

Game Idea #1:

Players construct a 2D platformer level, which is played through by an AI player.  Players would be scored according to the AI finding the level challenging, yet completable.  I'm not terribly familiar with AI / machine learning, so not sure on the achievability of this concept in the time available.  This would have a target audience of people who enjoy creativity and problem solving in games as well as possibly those interested in level design at a beginner level.  The prototype would focus on the functionality of the level building process, with the AI developed as well as possible in any remaining time.

Game Idea #2:

Players play as a dragon who must set up a lair, fill it with as much treasure (terrorising nearby villages) as they can, defend their loot against would-be thieves, protect themselves against questing knights and possibly even build a nest and reproduce.  This idea focusses on the theme of opposites and I have no particular ideas or preferences about whether this should be a "first-dragon", "third-dragon" or top-down perspective game.  The target audience would be those who like fantasy, dragons along with exploring and arcade-style action in their games.  The prototype would focus on gameplay aspects primarily, with the planning and hoarding aspects of the game as secondary goals.
